- Well, let's see... My name is Rick Spencer, but I am called "Coach" more often. Ran my first 10K when I was 8 & if there was a road race in North or South Carolina in the 80s, my dad & I probably ran it. I'm an ultramarathoner, trail runner, ex-Ironman (after a few years, doesn't your title get revoked?), high school Track & Cross Country coach, dad of Wren, husband of Jennifer, vegetarian (recent ex-vegan), tree-hugger, history teacher... and some other junk. This blog is just about the running though. Using it as a place to put race reports & whatnot. I guess there's something a little self-important about the whole blog thing... but whatever.
